Huron County OPP are warning residents about the danger of bush parties.
Police say a viral social medial message resulted in up to 3,000 teens showing up to an area near Bronson Line and Staffa Rd. last weekend.
Police say one young man was cut on the face after a beer bottle exploded in a bonfire, and glass fragments flew everywhere.
An intoxicated female fell on a rock and broke her arm, and party-goers were indiscriminately tossing fireworks into the bonfire.
Police also dealt with intoxicated people on the road, and noise complaints.
The homeowner had given permission for a family member to invite a few friends, but the that quickly blew up to the point they called police to shut the party down.
Police say they have information a similar party is planned for this weekend.
Police say youth face tremendous risk at large, unorganized and out of control gatherings, such as illicit drug use, alcohol poisoning, sexual assaults, impaired driving and fights.
So if your son or daughter asks for a ride to this weekend’s bush party please consider all the dangers your child is exposed to if they attend. Hopefully after communicating all the involved risks your son or daughter will make an informed and responsible decision to sit this one out.
