2018 Kincardine Old Boys Committee Looks To Council For Financial Support

The co-chairs of the upcoming 2018 Kincardine Old Boys Reunion Committee are hoping Kincardine Council can support the event.

A delegation will request a $20,000 loan, and a $20,000 grant from council tonight.

Jennifer Cook and Dave Patterson say they need funding for liability insurance, communications and promotions such as a logo, website and advertising.

The committee has already planned two fundraising event to help offset planning costs.

The event is scheduled for the Civic Holiday weekend, August 2, to August 6, 2018.

Organizers expect 30,000 people to attend the reunion, which has massive economic benefits.

Profits from the 2008 reunion were invested back into the community with funds donated to the Pavilion, the Legion, Minor Sports and the Walker House.

The winner of a logo and theme contest will be announced at a public meeting at the Marriott Hotel starting at 6pm June 9.
