Wellington North is asking other municipalities to join in urging the Province to ban door-to-door sales of home service products such as water heaters, furnaces and air conditioners.
In 2015, the Province banned door-to-door sales for electrical and natural gas contracts.
The motion, brought forward Monday by councillor Sherry Burke, states that vulnerable Wellington North residents have been targeted by these misleading, aggressive and unsolicited sales tactics.
Burke says she knows of several people who were ripped off for thousands of dollars.
