Driver More Than Twice Legal Limit With Kids In Car

A 32-year-old Wasaga Beach man has been charged after blowing well over the legal limit on Saturday night.

An Owen Sound police officer stopped a 2016 rented pick-up truck on 10th St. W in Owen sound, after the truck pulled out in front of the cruiser forcing the officer to take evasive action in order to avoid a collision.

The driver was given a breath test and registered two and a half times over the legal limit of 80 mg in 100 ml of blood.

Police say three people were in the truck, two of them young children.

Police say the driver had a previous criminal conviction in 2012 for drinking and driving.
