Members of the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society in Meaford are pleased with the response to their rain barrel fundraiser and hope it continues at least until they sell the rest of their barrels.
Society president Evelyn Dean reports that volunteers took 15 orders for rain barrels during the recent Eco Fair at Meaford Community Centre. Their goal is to sell 60 barrels.
The rain barrel sale is one of four fundraising projects the Society has launched this year. The Society’s aim is to raise at least 43 hundred dollars. Dean says that would be enough to pay the balance of what the Society owes Meaford for building the leash-free dog park.
Beautiful Joe Heritage Society has paid almost half of its pledge and hopes to pay the balance through donations and fund-raising.
