CEO Needed For Goderich Hospital

There's a new sense of urgency in the search for a new CEO for the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich.

Former CEO Bill Thibert had been retired for four and a half years when he was asked to come back on an interim basis when CEO Karen davis resigned earlier this year. Thibert agreed to fill in for three months, and then agreed to a one month extension. He explains it was great to come back and he's been treated very well, but he'd like to be retired again. So his last day will be May 13.

Thibert adds anytime there are changes the hospital has to do its due diligence in looking at solutions, and in this case they looked at possible administrative partnerships with several neighbouring hospitals before deciding it would be best to hire their own CEO, and the Southwest LHIN supported that decision. So now the ad is in the newspapers and the search for a new CEO beings.

Thibert says it'll probably take four to six months to find a new permanent CEO. They hope to have one by the fall, but in the meantime they will have to find another interim CEO because Thibert says he's anxious to go back to being retired, doing his volunteer work and enjoying his time as a member of the Menesetung Canoe Club.
