Durham is the location for the Grey Bruce We C.A.R.E. Project second annual Share event to address youth mental health and wellness.
The event on May 13th is a chance for adults and youth to Connect, Ask, Reach and Engage on youth mental health issues in Grey Bruce.
A dozen community agencies and local school boards are working together to increase awareness, understanding, compassion and support for youth mental health.
Local mental health professionals and youth will offer sessions on anxiety, depression, stress, resilience and social media.
There will also be workshops offering coping strategies through yoga, martial arts, self care, mindfulness and pet therapy.
The guest speaker is 22 year old comedian and mental health activist Kevin Breel of Victoria BC.
His TED talk, called "Confessions of a Depressed Comic," has over 3 million views, one of the most watched TED talks ever.
The event on Friday May 13th is at the Durham Community Centre from 9am until 2:30pm.
