A two month investigation into the trafficking of illicit drugs lead to the largest seizure of meth in Grey and Bruce Counties since a "super lab" was dismantled in 2006 on the Bruce Peninsula.
The probe lead police to execute search warrants at two residences in Hanover .
On Saturday police searched homes in the 300-block of 10th St., and the 200-block of 11th Ave.
Police seized over 18 ounces of methamphetamine, and small quantities of hydromorphone, cocaine and percocet tablets.
Police estimate the total street value of the drugs is $51,000. Police also seized weapons including some classified as prohibited.
And they seized $2,885.00 in cash.
Police say the amount of meth seized equals about 5,160 individual doses.
A member of the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit and a Saugeen Shores Police officer assisted.
Jason Rose, 44, of Hanover faces five charges including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and 3 counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon. He is in custody until a bail hearing in Walkerton tomorrow.
Gregory Benninger,40, and Mellissa Milne, 40, both of Hanover, face a number of charges, including possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Both have been released until a court appearance June 1st in Walkerton.
Police have also issued a warrant for a 30 year old woman of no fixed address, formerly of Owen Sound, on similar charges.
Police says methamphetamine is a dangerous, highly addictive illicit drug that leads to health concerns, crime and social disorder problems.
They say the investigation will make communities safer.
