If you're driving along Highway 6 towards Ferndale in North Bruce Peninsula, you may see an odd sight.
A wind turbine on a small wind turbine farm began to lean just over two weeks ago causing some concern among residents and passers-by.
But Aaron Boles, Senior Vice President of Communications for Capstone Infrastructure, the company that owns that particular small wind farm, says the turbine is now secure.
"We're working with the manufacturer and our own engineering team as well as consulting engineers to number one, stabilize the wind turbine which has been done, and then to come up with a permanent solution to discover what the core issue is, what's causing the turbine to lean," says Boles.
Boles says they've secured the site with a security team and they also have engineers on site, adding it's quite unusual to have a wind turbine in Ontario leaning in such a manner.
Boles notes that the turbine is hundreds of metres away from any nearby structures or roads and does not pose a threat whatsoever.
The exact cause of the lean is still under investigation.
