UPDATE: Three Grey County Municipalities May Combine Waste Services

Three Grey County municipalities want to work together for waste management and recycling.

The municipalities of Grey Highlands, West Grey, and the Township of Chatsworth held a combined Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday.

They received the results of a request for proposals for a single stream waste collection and recycling program for all three municipalities. Each of the councils will decide their next steps individually.

The current contracts for waste and recycling expire on June 30, 2016 and it is expected decisions by the three councils will be made no later than May 30, 2016.

Community feedback is important for the three municipalities moving forward.

Grey Highlands will meet April 25 to determine when to hold a public meeting.  The public meeting is not on April 25 as previously reported.

West Grey residents can contact the West Grey Office at 519 369-2200 for information on submitting comments.
