A Hanover police constable has appealed Police Services Act convictions of insubordination and discreditable conduct.
Constable Robin Paige was accused of being on duty under the influence of alcohol on January 19, 2015, and refusing a superior's order for a breath sample.
On April 15, Paige was ordered dismissed, but Hanover police received an appeal from Paige on April 19.
The appeal will be heard by the Ontario Civilian Police Commission, and as a result the Police Service Act convictions are stayed until a decision is made.
In the meantime, Constable Paige has been reinstated, and remains on paid suspension until a ruling is made.
There is no word as to when that will happen.
