North Perth's recycling program is showing some positive environmental impacts.
Since 2009, recycling has diverted almost 27,000 cubic yards of waste from landfill.
A report to council shows North Perth's recycling program diverted over 60% of waste in the fourth quarter of 2015.
That tops the provincial goal of 60%, and the rural average of under 40%.
The report suggests that recycling in North Perth in the past six years has also saved over 24,000 barrels of oil, and nearly 125,000 trees.
