Owen Sound Attack Defencemen Markus Phillips was named to Hockey Canada's National Men's Under-18 Team pre-competition camp in Winnipeg. It's in preparation for the 2016 IIHF U18 World Championship.
Phillips is one of six defencemen invited to the camp. The 17-year-old Attacker was selected 9th overall in 2015. He's scored three goals and nine assists for the Attack in 63 regular season games.
In all 23 players are taking part in the camp.
Canada plays Denmark in the opening game of the 2016 IIHF U18 World Championship in Grand Forks, North Dakota April 15th.
