Pancakes and Maple Syrup this Weekend At Saugeen Bluffs

It's been around for more than 45 years; it's the largest outdoor festival in Grey and Bruce Counties; and it's on this weekend.

The Saugeen Bluffs Maple Syrup Festival is expected to bring thousands of visitors Saturday and Sunday.

"You can expect lots of hot-of-the-grill pancakes with real maple syrup, horse-drawn wagon rides, we're going to have the West Coast Lumberjack Show which is going to be really cool, we've got the dog shows on Sunday, maple games, you name it we've got it; it's going to be a great event," says Shannon Wood, manager of communications for Saugeen Conservation.

Also new this year, free shuttle bus service from both Port Elgin and Southampton, thanks to the folks at the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce.

Those wishing to take advantage of the bus service to Saugeen Bluffs can do at so at the following locations:

  • The Coliseum in Southampton (10am and 12pm)
  • The Plex in Port Elgin (10:15am and 12:15pm)
  • Allan's Fireside Grill in Port Elgin (10:25am and 12:25pm)
There will also be regular bus runs from the Paisley Arena as well as Gibby's Grub.

Admission for adults is $8, children $3 and pre-schoolers are in for free.
