Owen Sound Services Review Underway

Owen Sound City Council is working to review departmental operation and discuss system improvements during public meetings.

Today and tomorrow, city council is discussing possible system improvements to come up with a list of items to explore further.

"Service Review 2016" is a proactive initiative aimed at enhancing the municipality.

Residents are asked to make suggestions on where services need upgrading, or how they can become more efficient and cost effective.

Starting April 8th, citizens can complete service review cards and drop them at suggestion boxes at city buildings.

In June, council will review those cards. Suggestion boxes will become permanent to continue an open dialogue with the community.

On May 9th,a public forum will be held at the Bayshore Arena to allow citizens to speak with council and staff.

Final decisions are expected in August, with a final public forum held September 7th, before recommendations are implemented.

Citizens wishing to submit their Service Review card electronically can do so either via Twitter (@CityOwenSound, #SR2016), Facebook (City of Owen Sound), or e-mail

(ServiceReview2016@owensound.ca).
