Most Local Rivers and Streams to Peak Tuesday

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority has updated it's Flood Watch.   Levels in most of the main rivers and streams are expected to peak later today.   The Pine and Penetangore Rivers have already peaked.

Flooding is reported in traditional low lying flood plain areas.

The Hanover-Walkerton Landfill Site is closed today, due to flooding.

Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority will continue to monitor river flow and weather conditions. There is more rain in the forecast for later in the week.

A Flood Watch remains in effect for Harriston and Lucknow.  The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority reports that watercourses along the Nine Mile River and Maitland River remain high.

It's a similar situation in the Ausable Bayfield, Grey Sauble, and Grand River watersheds.   Most rivers, tributaries and creeks are running high and fast, and there is minor flooding.

Ground conditions are saturated, so any significant rainfall could cause problems.
