New Doctor To Begin Work In Kincardine

Kincardine is getting a new family physician.

The Doctor Recruitment Committee has arranged an agreement with Dr. Daniel Soong to set up a medical practice in the community in July 2016.

Dr. Soong will provide much needed relief to the physicians at the Kincardine Medical Clinic sharing the patient burden in the wake of recent physician vacancies.

Dr. Soong will start full time practice at the Kincardine Emergency Department, for several months, as he works with the physicians group to establish a practice at the Kincardine clinic.

Dr. Soong calls Kincardine a great rural town with an urban feel.

Physicians Group Spokesman Dr. Gary Gurbin credits support from the municipality and Bruce Power for a doctor clearly suited to the town's medical needs.

“As mayor and as a member of the Physician Recruitment Committee, I am thrilled that we have another doctor coming to Kincardine this quickly," says Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie. "On behalf of Council and our residents I wish to thank all those involved in our recruitment process for their hard work. I would also like to thank the Kincardine physicians and other staff at the medical clinic for making various accommodations to meet the health needs of our residents during the current recruitment process.”
