Huron Health Board Delays Response To Turbine Concerns

The Huron County Board of Health will wait for a report from staff before making any decisions on how to address a presentation by members of the Concerned Citizens of Huron County.

Members of the group outlined the histories of several residents who have complained about health issues as a result of living near wind turbines.

Health Board Chair Tyler Hessel said the board will ask staff to go over all of the information and bring back a report, likely at next month's meeting.

Hessel adds Acting Medical Officer of Health Doctor Janice Owens did have the opportunity to meet with members of the group earlier this week, but board members had not had an opportunity to look over the results of that meeting.

Members of the Concerned Citizens of Huron County are asking that a working committee be formed with a goal to develop a method to accurately track complaints;  produce a study to determine the scope and severity of the problem in Huron County;  and to recommend solutions.
