CAO Brenda Orchard says the county is going from a levy of about $36-million to a levy of about $37-million.
That translates into an actual tax rate reduction of 2.39%, but because assessment has gone up, the budget increase is 3%.
Orchard says a power-point explanation of the budget and its impacts has been posted on the Huron County web site.
The final numbers will be announced at next week's committee of the whole meeting.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
