Kincardine Man Who Hit Hydro Pole Charged With Careless Driving

A 63 year old Kincardine man has been charged with careless driving after he hit a hydro pole on January 14th, knocking out power for 300 Westario Power customers for most of the day.

The crash occurred just after 11 AM, and South Bruce OPP and fire crews, along with a Westario Power maintenance crew, arrived at the scene to find a black Chevy Silverado had struck and damaged the pole near the Davidson centre on Durham Street.

The man was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact South Bruce OPP.
