Copper Wire Stolen From Mitchell Construction Site

Perth County OPP officers are investigating the theft of copper wire from the new Mitchell water tower construction site at the corner of Clarke St. and Holmes Rd.

Police believe that sometime between 4:30pm Monday afternoon and 6:30am Tuesday morning, a suspect entered the fenced off construction site, taking roughly 300 ft of #4 AWG welding wire.

Police say a similar theft occurred during the overnight hours of December 14, 2015 where a suspect made off with a 50 ft 220 volt, 30 AMP extension cord.

Total value of the stolen copper wires is pegged at roughly $500.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
