The Executive Director of Community Living South Huron says their board has now hired a consultant who will conduct a study to see what communities without workshops are doing.
Bruce Shaw explains that could involve communities who had workshops but don't now or communities who have never had workshops.
The Province has proposed closing workshops and Shaw points out Community Living South Huron currently provides up to forty hours a week of supported time for about sixty people.
He explains if other communities are providing similar services in a different way they'd like to know how they're doing it.
Shaw says he'd also like to know how the Province defines a sheltered workshop.
Shaw contents they've evolved to the point that they're doing several things that would not fall under and older definition for a sheltered workshop but if their consultant finds they're out of line then they'll have to get back onto line.
