HPHA Wants One Voice For Health Care Delivery

The CEO of the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance says the success of the province's "Patient First Proposal" will depend on how well the province consults with health care providers and how well the final recommendations are implemented.

Andrew Williams says it recognizes that the way the system is set up now, there are many different organizations being held accountable.   What the system needs is one voice that speaks to how best to plan health delivery in a specific area.

Williams adds that's not happening now, and Ontario residents deserve to have one group that has the responsibility to determine what is best for their community.

Williams says the fact that the conversation has started is a positive sign, but it will require input from all sectors of the health care field to make the proposal work.
