Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson recognized 13 outstanding citizens at her Annual New Year's Levee at the Teeswater Town Hall Wednesday night.
Thompson stressed the importance of remarkable citizens who donate their time and energy to make a difference in Huron-Bruce communities.
"It's like what they say, ordinary people make extraordinary efforts to make their community a little bit better," says Thompson.
In a packed hall of family and friends, Thompson called it a remarkable night celebrating remarkable people who help make a difference.
"Very humbling and delighted and greatly appreciative in receiving this kind of recognition," says Dr. Chandra Tripathi who chairs several community organizations in Kincardine.
The recognition is a real honour for Grey-Bruce children's advocate, James Rice.
"As Lisa says, Huron-Bruce matters, everyone does a great job at developing the awesome communities we all live in and so it's a big honour for me," says Rice.
