Home buyers looking for a bargain in the south Georgian Bay area need look no further than the Municipality of Meaford.
South Georgian Bay Association of Realtors latest statistical report showed the price of a home in Meaford averaged out at $306.3 thousand over the past 12 months.
Meaford’s average home price was the lowest for any of the seven municipalities listed in the Association’s latest report.
In second and third place were Wasaga Beach ($314.4 thousand) and Springwater Township.
The average prices for homes in the other four municipalities in the list were higher.
SGBAR’s report shows the average price of the 1,434 homes sold in all seven municipalities over the past year was $335.6 thousand. However, the sale of a dozen million-dollar-plus homes in a municipality can give a boost to the average price of all homes sold there.
