There is good news for Wellington North in the tentative budget of the Grand River Conservation Authority.
Of the G.R.C.A.’s proposed $30-million budget, Wellington North’s levy of $52,000 is up by just 2.4 per cent. The overall budget increase is 2.5 percent.
Municipalities in the G.R.C.A. watershed are being asked for a total of $10.8 million.
Wellington North heard that the conservation authority is dealing with the effects of global warming by preparing for more frequent severe weather events.
The final approval of the budget will come in February.
