The spirit of giving is alive and well in Perth County.
Donations this month to the Perth County Paramedic Community Care Fund have surpassed $3,300. Those donations came from Scotiabank in Stratford, Murphy Bus Lines, and Stratford Festival Jubilee IODE.
The Community Care Fund is a registered charity that has support from Perth County municipal councils.
It was created by paramedics to help families and visitors who find themselves in a crisis and need a little assistance to help make their emergency less stressful.
Christmas hampers were delivered this past week to six local families that were identified by paramedics who responded to their original emergencies.
Murphy Bus Lines drivers donated their annual Christmas breakfast party towards the fund.
"The drivers felt that the $300 I usually spent on holding their breakfast would go to better use with the paramedic caring fund," says Della Carroll, manager at Murphy Bus lines.
Stratford Festival Jubilee IODE felt the Paramedics Community Care Fund was worth a donation of $1,000.
Staff of the Wright Boulevard Scotiabank Administration Centre in Stratford recently delivered a cheque for $2,000 toward the fund.
