There will be further debate in Meaford over the proposal that the municipality rent an indoor swimming pool and use it for public recreation and aqua fitness programs.
Several councillors have voiced their opposition to leasing the indoor pool at Brookside Condominiums in Meaford.
Mayor Barb Clumpus says the negotiations with Brookside are ongoing, and even if there is a tentative agreement, council would still have to approve the plan.
Council passed a resolution stating that if negotiations on leasing the pool break down, council would simply transfer the money set aside for the pool rental to other infrastructure projects.
