OPP Asking Shoppers To 'Stuff Cruisers' This Weekend

A number of local OPP officers and members of auxiliary units will be hosting special Christmas collections this weekend.

On Saturday between 10am and 2pm, auxiliary OPP officers will be at Scrimgeour’s Food Market in Blyth, collecting donations of cash and non-perishable food items.

South Bruce OPP officers and auxiliary unit members will be at grocery stores in Kincardine and Walkerton Saturday, asking shoppers to "stuff the cruiser" for the local food banks.

In Kincardine, the OPP cruiser will be at Sobey’s from 10am until noon, and at No Frills from noon until 2pm.

In Walkerton, the OPP cruiser will be at Foodland from 10am until noon, then it will be at Kaufman’s Valumart from noon until 2pm.

On Sunday, between noon and 4pm Huron OPP auxiliary members along with Salvation Army members will be at the Goderich Walmart, collecting donations of cash and toys to be distributed by the Salvation Army.

"The generosity demonstrated in past years has been absolutely overwhelming," says Huron OPP Auxiliary Staff Sergeant David Gagne in a news release. "Our local OPP Auxiliary Unit looks forward every year to organizing and supporting the toy and food drives. So please stop by and make a donation that will make this Christmas just a little more enjoyable for those that are in real need."
