Colleen Schenk of Wingham is the new chair of the Avon Maitland District School Board.
Schenk has been a trustee on the board for 21 years and guesses this is the fourth or fifth time she's been the chair in that time.
She says the board will be tackling its new strategic plan in 2016, and she sees that as a great opportunity to involve everyone in the broader community.
Schenk adds they'll also looking over the board's policies and believes that will also be an exciting project.
Trustee Alyson Kent from Stratford was elected vice-chair of the Avon Maitland board.
