Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson worries the Wynne Liberals are rushing their planned Cap and Trade partnership, without considering details. Thompson is at the Climate Summit in Paris to monitor the Ontario Government's moves in her role as PC Critic for the Environment and Climate change. She says today's announcement to link Ontario's Cap and Trade system with Manitoba, Quebec and California provided very few details. She says reducing emissions requires a cost benefit analyses and comprehensive plan. She says Ontario's system is expected to impact everything from fuel, to groceries, to manufactured goods. Thompson agrees we cannot ignore climate changes, but says families and businesses deserve a fully costed plan so they can be prepared. She claims it's another tax grab with revenue going toward the multi billion dollar deficit.
