(BlackburnNews.com file photo)Minto firefighter Callise Foerter has been awarded the Rick Adamson Award for Volunteerism.
Minto Fire Chief Chris Harrow says the award recognizes the work Callise does with the fire department as well as her involvement in the community.
She is active with the Harriston Agricultural Society and is working with the 2016 International Plowing Match, which will be hosted in Minto.
The award is named in honour of a highly respected Hillsburgh firefighter who died of cancer in 2014.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
