The Bluewater District School Board is gearing up to welcome refugee families.
It's not yet known how many are coming and how many children and their ages. But it is known many local organizations and church groups are organizing to bring families to the area.
Board Superintendent Lori Wilder says the board and people in the community will do everything they can to make the transition as easy as possible.
"Aren't we so fortunate to be in the position that we can offer all that we can here in this wonderful area of Grey and Bruce counties, so we are more than willing to accept them and do everything in our power to make them feel very welcome," says Wilder.
Wilder says the board is preparing to meet needs like translation services and anything else to ensure the refugees' health and well being.
