Wellington North is applying for funding through a new Provincial Connecting Link program for the reconstruction of a section of Hwy. 89 through Mount Forest.
A grant could cover up to 90 percent of costs for the $890,000 rebuild of Queen St. between Whites Bridge and Egremont St.
Municipalities are welcoming the return of the Connecting Link program, which has been shut off in recent years.
