Owen Sound Regional Hospital Christmas Campaign

The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation's annual Christmas fundraising campaign is underway.  The goal this year is $300,000.

Hospital foundation Executive Director Paul Weitendorf says money raised this year will go towards new vital signs monitoring equipment.

"Ten thousand people have surgery here every year.  They all go through the surgical recovery room and most of them are going to be using a vital signs monitor so if you had a surgery and you're just recovering those help to make sure you get the best care," says Weitendorf.

Weitendorf reminds people the province does not fund the Owen Sound hospital for capital equipment so they depend on the community's support.

The fundraising campaign is by direct mail.  People can send a cheque or donate on line.
