UPDATE: Students Staying In Schools

10:14am:

Power has been restored to most of the Kincardine area but there are still thousands of Hydro One customers without power in the Port Elgin and Sauble Beach areas.

Students were kept at schools in those communities this morning as classes started at regular times.

From 9:32am:

The Bluewater District School Board says students in schools in Sauble, Port Elgin, Kincardine, and Ripley will stay in their schools at this time.

Power outages are affecting those communities and the lights went dark just as students were arriving for the school day.

Bluewater's maintenance department is in continuous contact with Westario and Hydro One about the situation and Bluewater School Board officials are monitoring as well.
