Huron County Libraries Introduce Hoopla Digital

Huron County libraries have formed a partnership with Midwest Tapes for a product called Hoopla Digital that significantly expands the services they offer.

Information Services Librarian Shannon Kammerer explains Hoopla Digital will allow anyone who holds a current library card to go online with their computer or mobile device and select the movie, television show, music, e-books, audio books or comics of their choice.

All of the library branches have a list of compatible devices for the app and that will soon be posted on the Huron County Library web site.

There is no cost other than the requirement that users must have a valid library card.

Kammerer explains users simply go directly, or through the library web site, to the hoopla digital.com web site and if someone already has the item they want, they can still get it.

There is no waiting list, everything is available immediately and patrons can check out as many as five items per month.
