Owen Sound Woman Scammed Out Of $30K

A 63-year-old Owen Sound woman has been defrauded of more than $30,000.

Police say on Friday and Saturday, the woman was contacted by fraudsters posing as RCMP officers who convinced the woman to give them access to her computer.

The fraudsters managed to get the woman's banking information.

They promised to transfer money to her account, but instead transferred it from one of her other bank accounts.

Police are warning the public to be vigilant and either check with the bank or call your local police service if you feel you may become the victim of fraud.
