Grey Highlands Resident Falls For Scam

 

A Grey Highlands residents is out a significant amount of cash after falling for what police call the 'overpayment' scam.

Grey County OPP say the 54-year-old victim replied to a job offer for a 'Mystery Shopper.'

She was sent a $2,256 bank draft and was instructed to return $987 of it via Western Union, which she did.

When the bank draft didn’t clear, she realized she had been scammed of $987.

Police remind residents there are many types of scams the public should be aware of.
