The shelves at seven food banks in Bruce County are stocked a little better this week.
Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling has announced that its annual curbside pickup food drive was another success.
During the two week campaign this month, drivers collected 8,560 pounds of donated food.
That food was delivered to The Salvation Army in Wiarton to be distributed to the various food banks within the service area. Those food banks are in Kincardine, Brockton, South Bruce, Huron-Kinloss, Saugeen Shores, Arran-Elderslie, and South Bruce Peninsula.
Over the past 18 years, Bruce Area Recycling has collected over 127,000 pounds of food donated by County residents.
