Kincardine residents have erected four small white crosses on Station Beach to commemorate four drowning victims at the site over seven years.
But Graham Hancock of Kincardine says the markers don't begin to tell the full story of the lives lost, and the pain left behind.
He hopes they serve as a warning to beach-goers about the spectacular power of Lake Huron. He says the lake's rip current can take a life in a moment.
He also hopes the crosses make people and politicians question if enough if being done to save more lives in the dangerous waters off Station Beach.
This past summer, teenager Lucas Johnson of Goderich drown at Station Beach.
Hancock says Kincardine council has agreed to an ultimatum from the Blue Flag organization to conduct a water safety audit to ensure the Blue Flag designation for 2016.
