Exeter Motorist Fails To Stop For School Bus

The Huron County OPP has already charged a local driver for failing to stop for a stopped school bus, less than two weeks into the new school year.

An OPP officer on school zone patrol in South Huron observed a stopped school bus with lights flashing and stop arm activated.

While the driver assisted a student onto the bus on Saunders St. W, an eastbound Pontiac Torrent failed to stop for the bus.

A 34-year-old Exeter woman is charged.

The incident happened Monday morning at 8:47am.

OPP remind drivers to watch out for children near the road, especially during school bus hours.

Motorists convicted the first time for failing to stop for the bus, face fines up to $2,000 and six demerit points.
