The Huron County Health Unit is no longer monitoring water quality on Lake Huron beaches for the rest of the summer.
Public Health Manager Jean-Guy Albert explains the testing of water quality is a summer position and the students who did that are now back at university.
Albert says swimmers concerned about things like e-coli levels can follow the recommendations on their website which are also posted on all of the permanent signs on the beaches.
They state that e-coli levels are likely to be higher after a heavy rain. And if an adult, standing waist deep in water, cannot see their feet, Albert recommends people should not swim in the lake.
