Bruce Peninsula Astronomy Group To Showcase Telescope on Friday

A Bruce Peninsula-based astronomy group has received the personal telescope of one of Canada’s most recognizable astronomers.

Terence Dickinson donated the approximately 9 ft long telescope to the Bayside Astronomy group, who will showcase it on Friday night in Lion's Head.

"It already has an interesting history behind it having belonged to Terence Dickinson," Bayside Astronomy Program Director Reed Rodgers tells CKNX News. "Whenever we'll move it around we'll have to get everyone to step back a few paces because it's such a big thing."

Dickinson, who was a regular contributor to Discovery Channel Canada, was made a member of the Order of Canada in 1995.
