Southgate has hired a new chief building official to replace Doug Kopp.
Brian Green, a retired CBO who formerly worked for the city of Owen Sound, has been hired for three or four months while Southgate looks for a permanent replacement for Kopp.
He will be paid $50 an hour and work three or four days a week.
Southgate CAO Dave Milliner says Kopp and the township parted ways in mid-July, but he would not elaborate further.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
