Southgate Rallies Support To Keep Welcome Signs

Southgate is trying to rally support across Grey County against a policy that will eliminate some municipal welcome signs on county roads.Southgate CAO Dave Milliner says the change will mean the loss of five of six signs announcing that travelers are entering Southgate.

A road must have at least 3,000 cars a day to qualify for a welcome sign.

But Southgate councilor Dale Pallister says the traffic study was flawed because it did not include weekend traffic, which is a time when the roads are sometimes their busiest.

Southgate is sending its concerns to all Grey County municipalities.
