Tale Of A Town In Kincardine

Kincardine residents can have their stories included in the Tale of a Town.

The Storymobile is parked at the Kincardine Arts Centre  tomorrow from 10am to 1pm.

Its part of a nation project to capture the collective community memories of the country's main streets, leading up to Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017.

The national oral history and theatre initiative will be based on interviews with residents, local heroes, and business owners.

The memories will be mixed with sound bytes, archives, music and memories to create a multi media experience that recounts local tales from the past.

A community presentation is planned for next Saturday July 18 between 3:30pm and 4:30pm at the Kincardine Library.

Seating is limited so you have to reserve your spot.

The Tale of a Town – Canada was launched in May 2014 at the National Arts Centre of Canada and then headed east to begin gathering stories and creating performances.
