Bluewater councillors have learned that renovations to Upper Room in the Hensall Heritage Hall are about $30,000 over budget.
A spokesperson for the architectural firm says it's typical in projects involving a building of this age that they would find things that were not expected in preparing the original estimates.
Melissa Stickl says that's exactly what happened with the Hensall Heritage Hall.
Bluewater council has asked that work proceed on the structural issues, including the installation of the lift.
Council wants to meet with the architects to negotiate the costs on some of the other items.
