Milverton Residents could see a natural gas pipeline making its way into the community in the near future according to a report from Perth County.
The project has been in development for a number of years but as county planner Allan Rothwell announced at council yesterday, construction could begin as early as the fall.
"Councilors are certainly aware that the province of Ontario has been working with various rural organizations including farm organizations and so on to bring natural gas out to the rural areas in a more appropriate sort of layout," says Rothwell.
Union Gas recently released its Environmental Protection Plan, which outlines how the company intends to address environmental concerns about the effects of the proposed construction project.
As of yet, there is no date set for completion of the project which will follow Road 130 North into Milverton.
