New CEO At Owen Sound And District Chamber Of Commerce

The Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce has a new CEO.

Chamber Board Director Peter Reesor takes over the position next week. He will replace Bert Loopstra, who announced several months ago that he would be retiring as CEO at the end of June, after serving in the position for ten years.

"Peter is an accomplished professional with 35-plus years of experience in the private and not-for-profit sectors," says Chamber Chair Debbie McKague. "He has advanced capabilities in public relations, corporate marketing, business development, advocacy, member relations and fundraising."

Reesor is a marketing and public relations consultant who moved with his wife to Georgian Bluffs five years ago from Ancaster.

He has served on a number of not-for-profit boards and committees including The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Hamilton Community Foundation, United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton and Junior Achievement of Hamilton.

"It is a privilege to be offered the chance to work for an organization like the chamber which I have admired and been a member of for over three decades," says Reesor. "As CEO, Bert has set a high bar in the provincial chamber community and I look forward to the challenge of following in his footsteps."
